SJC (A), Jakhama Celebrates 10th Edition of Spring Fest, 2024

St. Joseph's college (Autonomous) celebrates its 10th edition of Spring fest on the 8th -9th of March 2024. Spring fest, a two day intra-college festival that celebrates the cultural diversity of Nagaland, started off by inviting God's blessings upon the program by Dr. Fr. Obed Yimchunger, Vice Principal (students affairs). The inaugural program featured an exciting rendition of Imna Yaden's "We are the Nagas" performed by the SJC college Choir.
The welcome address of the inaugural function was delivered by the principal of the college Dr. Fr. George Keduolhou Angami where he emphasized on laying the foundation stones for the future champions and the timeless tradition of our culture; he further extended his wishes to all a happy International Women's day to all the women of the gathering. This was followed by the greetings from the guest of honour, Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, who accentuated on the growth of the students in St. Joseph's College. 
The program also featured special student’s performances by Blossoms and Ithikali.
The event also invited the Special Guest, Shri Abu Metha, Hon'ble Advisor to Chief Minister (Govt. Of Nagaland) who encouraged the students to dream high and urged them to become contributing members of the future by empowering yourself through social media, art and culture. 
The 10th spring fest of SJC (A), Jakhama was declared open with an amazing showcase of gun shots with all the special guest and invitees, symbolizing a strong head start of spring fest. The inaugural event was especially lively as the lovely Lenen Jamir made a special appearance.
Staying true to its theme, the inaugural program concluded with the folk dance competition and the war cry competition, pork fat eating competition, traditional fire making competition which was participated by the various tribes and the students of various departments in St. Joseph's college.  
The second session of the program included a student’s appearances from Liwang Venuh, an upbeat performance by Sentiein Kichu and exciting performances from Lam Grace dance Studio. The first day ended with a much anticipated performance from the lively Moko Koza who enthralled the audience with his famous numbers. There would be more competition events like stilt walk, shoulder fight, go carting, Naga wrestling etc. on the second day.
