6th Mini - Parliament held at SJC(A), Jakhama on 19th Aug , 2023
The department of Political Science, St Joseph's college ( A ) Jakhama conducted its 6th Mini -
Parliament in the college indoor stadium on 19th Aug , 2023 . It is a major event for the department where the students take utmost interest in displaying the acts of the parliament. The program started at 09:30 A.M which was hosted by miss Vinesha Tep ( Finance secy, Dept of Pol.sci ) after which the program was blessed by miss Rokonguno Zashümo ( BA 3rd Sem ) . A warm welcome note was presented by Mr. Dihe Mao ( Asst. professor, Dept of Pol.sci ) to introduced the Guest speaker. A special no. was also presented by Ridge Band after which it was followed by speech from the Guest speaker Shri. Neichute Doulo (CEO, Entrepreneur Associates. He highlighted on his life experiences and encouraged the students to know their roots and learn the rich Naga civilization and culture. He also urged the students to go beyond the classroom knowledge and pursue careers beyond government jobs. He also stated that, in order to know the present we should study the history of the society and then solve the problems by debating and talking it out . A vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Heli Wotsa ( Cultural Sect , Dept of Pol.sci ).
The second session of the Mini – Parliament started with the National Anthem followed by the
President’s speech. After which the Parliament session was taken over by the speaker. The House discussed and debated on the wide ranging issues like, the UCC ( Uniform Civil Code ), Commercialization of education and Digital privacy, the Manipur crisis , 20 years of Neiphiu Rio's Governance and on Capital punishment.
The programme was blessed with the presence of Dr. Fr. George Keduolhou Angami ( Principal, St
Joseph's college ‘ A ' Jakhama ) and Dr. Sr. Ranit SABS ( Vice Principal St Joseph's college ‘ A ' Jakhama ) and the department lecturers along with more than 850 Political Science students of both UG and the PG.The program ended with a vote of thanks by Miss Lilly Humtsoe ( Co - ordinator, Dept of pol.sci ) at 02:35 pm.
