Seminar On World Consumer Rights Day

On 15th of March, 2024, a seminar was held at Indoor Stadium, St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama on the theme “Fair and Responsible AI for Consumers”. The resource persons were Mr. Thejavor yiese (Advocate) and Mr. Rotiba G Sangtam as motivational speaker.

Mr Thejavor yiese, the theme speaker in his speech highlighted the importance of consumer protection. He emphasised on the responsibilities of the consumers to be aware of the AI and to be a civilized citizens in promoting fairness and welfare of the people. He also added that an individual can do a lot to advocate Consumer Rights by educating themselves and to be mindful of the online activities that they engage in.

Motivational speaker Rotiba G Sangtam, Assistant Research Officer, Dept. of Women Research Development started his speech with a question ‘How many of us are sure of our purpose in Life?’ He stated three main points:

a man with purpose is more successful.

a man with purpose is happy.

a man with purpose is well prepared then those with no purpose.

He emphasised that the secret to success is not always hard work but consistency.

Mr Tokabo katty the MC, highlighted the procedure of the programme. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Neitho, Dept. of Commerce.
