SJC (A) hosts inter college 14th Convergence Fest

In an impressive showcase of talent and creativity, the Department of Business Administration, St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama, hosted the inter collage 14th Convergence Fest on September 22 and 23 under the theme, “Progressing to Greatest”. The event was graced by entrepreneur and esteemed founder and CEO of Ete Coffee, Lichan Humtsoe, as the guest speaker.


Lichan Humtsoe, in his speech gave a very strong message and encouraged the students to come out of their comfort zone and take up challenges if they want to progress further. He also shared valuable insights and experiences in the field of entrepreneurship and leadership.

The event saw participation from eight prominent colleges from Kohima and Chümoukedima including Nagaland University, Kohima Science College, Sazolie College, Don Bosco College, Kros College, Patkai Christian College, Norman Putsure College and St. Joseph’s College (A), Jakhama (represented by 10 departments).
The teams competed in various events such as Business Plan, Mock Interview, Photography and Art of dance on the first day.


The second day witnessed competitions in Smartphone Movie, Art, Mad Ads and Mr & Ms Convergence.
One such important event on the first day includes the panel discussion where some of the great minds and entrepreneurs have serious and thought-provoking talks about the youth of today.


The panellists include, founder of Modern Myriad, Namang T Chang, Brand designer and strategist, Sinlo Kemp, founder of India Trails, Rohan K Abraham, and moderated by asst. professor, Dept. of Business Administration SJC (A), Jakhama MD Tabrej.


In a fiercely competitive environment during these two days mega event, the English department of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama, emerged as the Overall Champions while Norman Putsure College, Dimapur was recognized as the Best Disciplined Team Award, reinforcing the importance of character and conduct in academia.
During the two days fest, audiences were also entertained by some of the rising and renowned artistes in the likes of Akhrieze Lhoushe, Tia Jamir and Z World.


It may be mentioned that Convergence Fest 2023 truly served as a platform to celebrate creativity, innovation, and academic excellence. It brought together young minds from various institutions, fostering a spirit of healthy competition and collaboration.


The fest not only showcased the potential of its youth but also underscored the commitment of the Department of Business Administration, St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama, to nurturing talent and promoting holistic development.


The event commenced with countdown prelude video and theme music followed by invocation by the Dean of Science, St Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakahama, Rev Fr Peter Solo, welcome address by the director of the Department of Business Administration, K Zubemo Humtsoe, introducing of the event by Honnyei T Konyak while the co-convenor of the 14th Convergence Fest, Mhasivizo Sale delivered the vote of thanks.
